Jamie Barrera Ministries is a Christian, Evangelistic, and Missionary Alliance that uses street outreach as a platform to help the inner city community spread the gospel, and build disciples. We feel that intersecting lost souls in the community and showing them the light while also strengthening them is a good method for a local church to corporately engage people holistically. In other words, we intend to visit, meet, and serve people in jails, go directly into homeless camps (tent cities), human traffic, drug and prostitution rings, and strip clubs in order to save their life. Our Christian disciples love God and love people who are ready to change their life for the better and represent Christ in the future.

Jamie Barrera Ministries is a non-denominational, non-profit Christian organization whose goal is to bring new believers into a relationship of worship, praise, and thanksgiving to God by hearing and reading God's Word.  Our hope is every believer should be in a growing relationship with Jesus by obeying the instructions given in the bible, yielding to the help of the Holy Spirit, and being conformed to the image, character, and likeness of Christ. (Philippians 3:12-13). The evidence of the presence of the Holy Spirit in a born-again believer, through the salvation of Jesus, is God’s definite means of an endowment of gifting and power to serve the Kingdom of God.  (Acts 1:5, 2:1-4)

Mission

To share a deep and abiding love for God; His son, Jesus, the Holy Spirit; His Word, the Bible; and His people, both inside the church and out. The Bible tells us that others will come to know Him because of our love for each other (John 13:35) and the word of our testimony (Revelation 12:11).

Our mission is to proclaim the gospel to the poor, proclaim freedom for the prisoners, raise the dead, drive out demons, and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free. (Luke 4:18, Isaiah 61:1, Matthew 10:8)

We will talk about repentance and renouncing things that have kept people bound. The goal is kingdom salvation, their freedom and to stay free not "feel good" to do the same routine all over again. Their salvation is about transformation and a new journey in Christ Jesus spread out culturally to all regions and nations.

Vision

To advance Kingdom teaching and principles in a global effort to reach the unsaved, restore the lost, and infiltrate local communities with the gospel of Jesus Christ through street outreach, podcast, blog/video teachings, and in-person training.

PRAY

Acts 2:1-4

When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place, and suddenly a sound came from heaven like a rushing violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. There appeared to them tongues resembling fire, which were being distributed [among them], and they rested on each one of them [as each person received the Holy Spirit]. And they were all filled [that is, diffused throughout their being] with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues (different languages), as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out [clearly and appropriately].

OUTREACH

Matthew 28:19-20

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.”

Inside of a Church

Trinity

We believe there is one God who alone is eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and coeternal to establish the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven. (Genesis 1:26; Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Hebrews 3:7-11; John 1:1-3, 14)

Tithe & Offering

In the Bible, tithing means "a tenth". Tithes are a percentage (10%) you give to God FIRST (of your gross income) to your home church and/or ministry if you do not have a home church (Malachi 3:10-12). An Offering is any amount extra that you give beyond the tithe. The act of giving the tithe & offering help sustain the church/ministry and is the practice of good financial management as well as the cornerstone of the commanded blessing of God's provision. When "Sowing a Seed" (giving) into the ministry, it is an indication of Trusting God for a specific need or breakthrough in your personal life with your TREASURE. (Proverbs 3:9-10) Sometimes tithes and offerings represent your TIME devoted to God or the use of your TALENTS for ministry. Either way, give cheerfully to the Lord (2 Corinthians 9:7–8)

Spiritual Healing, & Deliverance

Jesus called His disciples,  gave them the right to exercise power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases. Then He sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. (Luke 9:1-2, Matthew 10:1,8, 12:28)

Baptism of Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit baptism is to endue believers with God's power with evidence of a Holy language (tongues of fire) (Acts 2). We believe the fire of the Holy Ghost is displayed through a variety of Spiritual Gifts along with the Fruits of the Spirit to build & sanctify the Church ability to be an effective witness to the world. 9 Fruits of the Spirit, the lists of Gifts in the Bible are not necessarily exhaustive & may occur in various combinations. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Word of God and should never be used in violation of Biblical parameters. Every believer should eagerly desire spiritual Gifts and produce the spiritual Fruits to promote the gospel in their everyday lives.

(Joel 2:28-29; Matthew 3:11; Acts 1:5, 2:1-4, 17, 38-39, 8:14-17, 10:38, 44-47, 11:15-17, 19:1-6; 1 Cor 12:13)

Bible

The Old and New Testament is God’s Word for His people. It was written over the course of centuries by human authors under the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is God’s Kingdom authoritative truth and standard. We experience more success in our spiritual lives as we conform our lives to its teachings & statutes. There are many translations of the Bible available, but you can find His heart and His directions for us in any of them. (Jeremiah 25:13; Proverbs 30:5; Luke 1:70; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

Communion.jpg

Communion

There are many different ways to observe communion, but each way is modeled on a ceremony Jesus led His disciples in the day before His death and uses bread or wafers and juice. In the presence of God to partake of the elements of bread and grape juice, which represent the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. These are taken in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, which fulfilled God the Father’s requirement of just punishment for our sins so that we can be in covenant relationship with Him. As we partake of the elements together, we remember the New Covenant and renew our devotion to Jesus.

(Matthew 26:26-29, 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38, 8:12, 36-38, 10:47-48; 1 Corinthians 10:16, 11:23-26; 1 Peter 3:18-22)

Baptism with Water

Following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the new convert is commanded by the Word of God to be immersed in a body of water. Water Baptism publicly demonstrates our loyalty to Jesus, and baptism in the name of Jesus today is for that purpose and not as a ritual connected to salvation. In baptism, we renounce Satan and the forces of darkness and declare our allegiance to Jesus as the Lord of our lives (Romans 6:3-7).

Biblical Marriage

Scripture defines marriage as a blessed union of one biological man and one biological woman under God (Gen 1:26-28). Marriage is the ONLY place where sexual intimacy can occur according to God's design to be "fruitful & multiply" (start a family). The church has the responsibility to evaluate the readiness of those interested in entering into the marriage covenant at its sole discretion since marriage is a covenant between one man, one woman, and God. Ministers may decline to officiate or host marriage ceremonies that are contrary to their Statements of Faith or the Bible principles they uphold. (Gen 2:18-25;1 Cor 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb 13:4.)

Church Cross

Church

The five-fold ministry comes from Ephesians 4:11, "It is Jesus who gave some to be

  1. Apostles

  2. Prophets

  3. Evangelists

  4. Pastors

  5. Teachers."

The Church is both the representative of Jesus on earth & earthly expression of His kingdom. The purpose of the five-fold ministry is, "to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until each reach unity in the faith & in the knowledge of Jesus, becoming mature, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ." (Worship)

(Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22, 4:12-13; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23; 1 Tim 3:15)

Salvation.jpg

Salvation

We believe that salvation is only found by placing our faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus rose from the dead and is coming again. We believe man is saved by grace alone, through personal faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human effort. We believe in sanctification, the ongoing process of yielding to God’s Word and the Holy Spirit in order to develop a mature Christ-like character. The only hope for this redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, apart from any human deed or merit. (Romans 8:29, Romans 5:1; 5:8-9, Acts 3:19, 16:31 Hebrews 9:22)

Heaven & Hell

Heaven is the place where God dwells; a place which will be reunited with a new earth at the end of the age. The new heavens and the new earth are the eternal dwelling place for all believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ where we will fulfill our original purpose of ruling and reigning over God’s creation with Him and our Lord, Jesus Christ. Unbelievers have no share in the eternal life on the new earth but are instead eternally separated from God.

(Matthew 25:41; John 14:1-3; 17:24; 1 Cor 15:26; Romans 8:18-25; 2 Corinthians 5:1; Hebrews 9:27, 11:16; 1 Peter 1:4; Revelation 20:12-15, 21:8)

Biblical Sexuality

Before birth, God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female through genetic encoding and physiological manifestation. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.

(Gen 2:18-25; Matthew 19:4-6, 1 Corinthians 6:18, 1 Thessalonians 4:3, Romans 1:26-27, Deuteronomy 23:1)
