Matthew 3:2 (NIV)
Jesus said, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
With times like this, there are always moments of reflection. We are on the tips of revival for the nation. Every move of God started with a personal revival. Getting alone with God and laying everything out on the line. People ask me often, how do I pray? The first command of Jesus at the start of His ministry was to repent (Change your mind, change your direction). Matthew 10:39 (AMP) Whoever finds his life [in this world] will [eventually] lose it [through death], and whoever loses his life [in this world] for My sake will find it [that is, life with Me for all eternity].
Here is my prayer I say daily, every day I need to lay my life down before God and make a covenant with my mouth:
Dear Father God,
Jesus, You are Lord over our life, Jesus we exalt You, we pick up our cross we walk with You. We do not run from Your divine correction so we crucify this flesh. Thank you for the conviction of our hearts. Reveal to us our part that we mismanaged &/or participated in that caused disfunction, disillusionment, disorder, and dishonor in what you meant originally to be a good thing. Anything and everything in our heart, our life, our family, in this nation, in this community, in our church that needs to be dealt with, deal with me, deal with our heart to change mine and our family’s direction. Reveal to us our attitude, our words, our actions that we need to repent on behalf of ourselves, our family, and the root of our forefathers’ sins so that it stops with me and will not pollute the next generation. We repent to You our sins and ask for Your forgiveness regarding any negativity & the way/what we agreed or handled things disobediently, anything that is willing/unwilling, knowing/unknowing, anything/everything we've done that has displeased Your heart, disappointed You, or put distance between us, Your purpose and Your plans. We lay down our desires, our hopes, our wants, and our needs so that it submits to Your way and we do not make idols of them but trust and wait on You to provide according to Your will for our lives. Forgive us in the areas we took matters into our own hands, lied, and manipulated for selfish gain and allowed pride or lust of the eyes or lust of the flesh get in the way instead of seeking You first in all things to want what You want and turn away from what You hate. Our purpose is to align ourselves with the Kingdom of Heaven, to be a reflection of God here on earth.
Cleanse me, Lord, cleanse my family, and my bloodline of all wickedness, pollution, and where we missed the mark. You paid the price for our sins by the shedding of Your blood so we don’t have to pay the price or debts of others. Thank You for Your redemptive power by the bloodshed for our sins on the cross of Calvary. We stand under the Blood of Jesus, asking for mercy and forgiveness. Holy Spirit show us Your truth, Your way, and Your Life. Today we are more restored than we were yesterday. Bless us this year, Father. Bless us not according to what we deserve, but according to Your great loving-kindness and generosity. You are a magnificent God, a benevolent God! When You release increase and blessing, remember us, O Lord! I seek Your face for mercy, forgiveness, and kindness.
